How Does It Work?
Leveraging ASR allows you to reduce your infrastructure cost, eliminate expensive and time consuming DR testing and provide very respectable recovery point objectives as well as recovery time objectives. Customers such as Rackspace who are in the datacenter business leverage this product.
Azure site recovery can protect the following types of workloads:
- Azure VMs
- Hyper-V VMs
- Physical Machines running Windows or Linux
- VM Ware VMs
ASR leverages Azure Compute, Networking and Storage to provide you protected services that can be orchestrated to take over in the event of a failure. Halcyon can help you with network configuration (VPN or ExpressRoute) to ensure connectivity.
ASR is priced in a very straight forward manner. You pay for what you use, and protected machines are at a flat rate per month. This allows for predictable costing and flexibility.
